Lesson invoices are sent at the beginning of each month and payments are due by the 5th. If payment is not received by that time the lesson cannot be performed until payment is sent. There are no refunds, but we do try to work with the parent as much as possible to re-schedule.
In the event that your scheduled lesson falls on a Federal or Provincial holiday your lesson will not be charged. Alternatively, we can find another time to make up the lesson. If you are going on a personal holiday, Music with Kendra will credit your lesson and will work with you to arrange a make up lesson.
Makeup lessons are common with busy families. There is no expiry for makeup lessons, and they are usually made up on a separate occasion or 10-15 minutes could be added to subsequent lessons until the time is made up. Due to scheduling and traveling between lessons a makeup lesson might occur on a weekend.
Makeup lessons cannot be used as credits towards discounted future lessons.
Some exceptions apply as we strive to be as flexible as possible and can be discussed as they occur.
In the event that Music with Kendra comes to your home and the student is unavailable without prior notice the lesson will be charged, but not made up. Please give a minimum 48 hours notice before your lesson time to allow for rescheduling. Music with Kendra will do everything we can to be as flexible and family-friendly as possible and understand that last-minute events and issues can happen.
In the event the lesson can not be made-up this way (due to scheduling), the lesson can be made up online and the added itinerant fee will be waived.
If you are currently taking online lessons, or are making up a lesson this way, Music with Kendra is obliged to wait 15 minutes in the active video chat or will send 3 calls/messages over a period of 20 minutes if the initial call/message is not answered. If the internet drops
on either end of the call and sufficient time is wasted reconnecting during the lesson, Music with Kendra will note the time wasted in the My Music Staff program and that time will be made up in future lessons. The same resolution applies if the quality of online lessons is not
sufficient for progress (IE; the video lags too much, or the audio cuts in and out) and the lesson must be stopped.
If you are unable to allow Music with Kendra into your home due to sickness or illness in the home (such as a flu going around, or COVID-19 quarantining), the lesson will occur online. Scheduling for these lessons will occur between the teacher and parent/student). The itinerant fee will be waived and the standard lesson rate will apply.
